| As the UK moves from a manufacturing economy
to a knowledge-based economy there has never been a greater
need for mobile computing. Information is power, but only
if you can access the information when you need it!
Employees are also demanding more flexibility in terms of
where and when they work. Many workers now spend considerable
time on the road or travelling on business. The dilemma is
how to turn this “dead time” into productive time.
Over the years many companies have tried to find a solution
to mobile working using a combination of technologies. They
worked to some extent but were still piecemeal and the performance
did not match user’s expectations.
