VPlus Networks has been working with a major public sector body
in Scotland to implement a large-scale managed remote access
network.
An initial pilot project in early 2004 involved developing
a managed Virtual Private Network to allow 800 public servants
to access a business critical database securely. A key requirement
was that this data could be accessed via any telephone line
regardless of operator (BT, NTL, Telewest etc) and with any
Internet connection (e.g. a school Internet café).
The four-week roll out to the staff was completed on time
and on budget. VPlus also provided one-to-one telephone training
to each end user as well as a training manual and a website
training demo. |
